Pipes and Valves
Most customers believe the best-looking enclosure hides pipes and valves. If this is not possible, you may need a cutout or notch in the end of the cabinet for pipes and/or valves. From a heating efficiency standpoint, and for best airflow, you’ll want the back of the enclosure to sit out in front of the ¼ round, molding, and/or baseboard woodwork where possible. If this will not work, notches will be needed to clear the obstacles.

We can provide special cutouts and/or notches in the ends of any enclosure if needed. Fax or mail us a sketch, or call our enclosure designer toll-free, between 8 am and 5 pm, EST, M-F.

Access Doors
If the radiator valve is at floor level, we recommend an access door for enclosures taller than 29 inches. Indicate the location of the access door when the unit is viewed from the front on a simple sketch, and send to us at the address shown above. Or fax to us.

If you have a digital camera and can email us a photo, that would be the best alternative. Simply click here and attach the photo.

Clearances
A minimum of 1/8 inch clearance is needed behind the radiator to within 7 inches of the floor. If pipes, wall brackets, window sills or baseboards infringe on this space, we offer 2 suggestions:

a) Ask for a short back panel on your enclosure. (The back may be as short as 1 inch.)

b) Plan on assembling the enclosure around the radiator. The back panel can be installed after the front and end panels are in position.

When assembled, your enclosure will be 1/2 inch greater in length and depth (at lay-on-top) and ¼ inch more in height.

Wall-mounted Radiators
BeautifulRadiators.com.com can suggest many ways to make a wall-mounted radiator a pleasing feature of the room. If a wall-hung radiator is within 12” of the floor, we often recommend a cover that extends to the floor, with a short back panel that straddles the brackets. The enclosure we manufacture will be fully supported by special brackets we provide. Email us a note describing your radiator and let us suggest some ideas!

Fractional Measurements?
Most customers "round-up" to the next full inch. But if you want to use your fractional measurement, that's no problem!
